Investigating the Clinical Impact of EGFR Mutations in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
This project studied how different mutations in the EGFR gene influence the growth of non-small cell lung cancer and how they affect treatment with targeted drugs. Some mutations make tumors respond well to EGFR-blocking medicines, while others, such as the T790M mutation, lead to resistance and reduce the effectiveness of therapy. The findings highlight the importance of identifying the exact mutation in each patient to guide precision treatment strategies.
Evaluating the Value of Genomic and Immune Features for Survival Prediction Beyond MSI in Colorectal Cancer
This study used TCGA colorectal cancer data to test whether adding genomic and immune features could improve survival prediction beyond microsatellite instability (MSI). The results showed that MSI alone was the strongest predictor of patient survival. Adding more genetic or immune features did not meaningfully improve accuracy, reinforcing MSI as a reliable and simple biomarker for prognosis in colorectal cancer.
